Why Egyptian Cotton? What makes it so special?

Egypt has a unique climate. The rich soil of the Nile Delta coupled with the year round moderate climate make it ideally suited for cotton plantations. The Egyptian people take great pride in their cotton and consider it an integral part of their culture. The Egyptian Department of Agriculture strictly controls the cotton industry to insure that all cotton meets the highest standards. “Barbadense” cotton, the variety grown in Egypt, has extremely long fibers. These “long staple” fibers are often 1½ inches long. Egyptian cotton is picked and processed by hand to prevent these valuable fibers from being damaged by machinery. The threads made from these fibers are finer, stronger and softer than other cottons. The products manufactured from these superior threads become the finest, softest and most luxurious clothes and linens in the world.

Are all your products really Egyptian Cotton?

Absolutely! We only use suppliers that are Egyptian Cotton™ licensed. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Trade owns this trademark and only grants a license to companies that can prove that their products only contain 100% pure Egyptian Barbadense cotton.

How do I care for my Egyptian Cotton sheets?

Wash sheets with a mild detergent in cold water using the delicate setting on your wash machine. Avoid using bleach because it may cause damage. If using a dryer, set heat to low and remove from machine immediately when dry. If you leave sheets in the dryer too long they may develop wrinkles. If this happens, place a damp (not wet) washcloth in dryer with the sheets and run for 5 - 10 more minutes.
